Our optional TIN matching service is always a great way to double-check that you submitted the correct tax ID numbers to the IRS. Adams Tax Services will submit your selections to validate TIN / name combinations.
But please take note: this process will happen prior to your submission of your information returns. So please wait for TIN verification results to arrive before printing or submitting your forms for eFiling. That way you can make any changes if needed. TIN match results are generally returned within 24 - 48 hours of your submission. Here’s a step-by-step guide about how TIN matching services work.
Select a record to submit for TIN Verification. This can be either a payer or a recipient. On the popup, click “Purchase verification for $1.”
When you’ve made all your selections, click “View Cart” on any shopping cart icon.
Next, you can review your list of TINs to be submitted for verification. If you have duplicates you'll be asked to remove them before proceeding. The IRS will only allow one name and address to be verified per TIN.
Review your list and enter payment information. Check “I’m not a robot” and click “Continue” and your TINs will be submitted.
You will get an email when your results are ready (This usually takes 24 to 48 hours depending on IRS processing time).
You can then log in to your account to check your TIN status.

TIN results that match with the IRS database will have a green checkmark.
Any records marked with a red X will need corrections before they can be submitted.
The IRS will tell us if the number was properly issued. If not, you will see "Not issued" when you hover over the red X:
If the number has been issued, but the name didn’t match IRS records, you will see "No match" when you hover over the red X:
Double-check any errors that might have occurred and confirm you have the right TIN numbers. You can always use our TIN matching service to re-verify that your information is correct, but again, you will usually have to wait 24 - 48 hours for your results.
