If your Quickbooks Online data doesn’t import to the new Helper, here are some key reasons why this could be happening.

For starters, you’ll want to run a 1099 Report in Quickbooks before attempting to upload your data to Adams Tax Forms Helper. Since you only want to upload your 1099-NEC and 1099-MISC Recipients and Payers, make sure you run your report beforehand to check for any outliers.

Plus, for security reasons, Quickbooks will only allow the following information to be uploaded:

  1. Your company information (this will be your Payer on your 1099).

  2. Your vendor information (this will be your Recipient on your 1099).

There are other scenarios that prevent your data from uploading as well:

  1. Transactions paid with a credit card, debit card, and Paypal will not upload.

  2. Your recipients are not set up as 1099 recipients.

  3. You did not set dollar amounts for bills paid using the “Pay Bill” function in QuickBooks Online.

  4. Your recipients do not meet the threshold requirements to generate a 1099-NEC or 1099-MISC.

  5. Your recipients were paid from an account not set up as a 1099 account.

  6. The recipient name is not named as a recipient but some other name instead.

  7. Your recipients are set up as both recipients and employees. Employee transactions will not upload nor show up in your 1099s.

Be sure to check for these mistakes, and run your 1099 report beforehand.

Good on you! You’ve found out why your Quickbooks Online data isn’t uploading!
