By ensuring compliance and verifying name/TIN combinations, this service can reduce form rejections and penalties, streamlining your tax filing process efficiently.
But please take note: this process will happen prior to your submission of your information returns. So please wait for TIN verification results to arrive before printing or eFiling your forms. That way you can make any changes if needed. TIN match results are generally returned within 24 - 48 hours of your submission. Here’s a step-by-step guide about how TIN matching services work.
Additionally, you will receive an email notification once your TIN Check process has been completed, ensuring transparent and timely updates. During the processing stage, no additional actions are required from you. Simply wait for the system to complete its task. Once processing is complete, you will receive an email confirmation informing you about the successful submission and transition out of the processing stage.
TIN Check is an optional verification service that compares a payee's name and Tax Identification Number (TIN) against IRS records. This verification process confirms whether the combination of the name and TIN is valid prior to submitting forms. Additionally, it supports both Employer Identification Numbers (EINs) and Social Security Numbers (SSNs).
From your dashboard, go to “Forms.”
Next, check the box or boxes you’d like to TIN Check.
Next, click the “Checkout & File” button.
You’ll see the Filings Ready to Submit, and you’ll check the boxes under TIN Check for the specific filings you want TIN Checked.
Next, Click the “Checkout” button.
You’ll enter your credit card information at Checkout, and you’ll see the Order Summary to the right of your information. After you enter your address, you'll click the "Validate Address" button:
Next, please select the suggested address and make sure your info is accurate.
Click "Save & Continue."
Click "Checkout."
You’ll get a notification that your Order is complete.
Finally, you’ll also receive an email with details of your order.
