Printing an Issuer's Copy

A simple step-by-step guide on printing an Issuer's copy for records and more.

Steps

  1. From the Forms page, set the year to All Years and open the Ready tab.

Forms page, Ready tab

  1. On the form row, click Actions, then Print.

Actions menu with Print option

  1. The Print 1099-NEC Forms page opens. Under Print Method, choose Print to Plain Paper (Blank sheet). Use Pre-printed IRS forms only for Copy A.

Print page: Print Method options

Copy Type dropdown (Copy 1, Copy 2, Copy B)

  1. Under Output, choose Print (send to printer) or Download (save a PDF).

Issues found

  • Print service down (503). Every call to POST /api/helper/submissions/6706533/print on the UAT API returned 503 Service Unavailable. This blocks preview, print, and download for all copy types.

  • "Submission not found." Choosing Print on the Federal 1099-MISC (issuer Bob, recipient Bobby Tommy) opened a page that only showed this error.

Submission not found error (1099-MISC)

  • Copy labeling. The Copy Type list offers only Copy 1, Copy 2 and Copy B, with no Copy C. On the IRS 1099-NEC, Copy C is "For Payer" and Copy 2 goes to the recipient for state filing. The app describes Copy 2 as the issuer copy, so the help article needs confirmation of which label is correct.

  • Forms list loading. After clearing filters, the All Forms tab showed "No forms match your search or filters" despite a count of 61. The list only appeared after selecting the Ready tab.

Next steps

  • Have dev restore the UAT print/render service, then rerun step 8 and capture the preview and printed output.

  • Confirm the correct payer's copy label (Copy C vs. Copy 2) before publishing the help article.

  • Add a form to Test Co Help Article so future screenshots use the help-article issuer.
