Quick version
Add: On the Forms page, click Add a new form.
Edit: Click the W-2’s name.
Delete: Click Actions > Delete Form.
A W-2 that’s already eFiled needs a W-2c (correction) instead.
You can create W-2s for any employer you’ve set up as an issuer. Every W-2 you create appears on the Forms page.
Adding W-2s for a lot of employees? Use Import on the Forms page instead. See Upload Payer, Recipient & Form Data in an Excel Template.
Add a W-2
Go to Forms in the left menu.
Click Add a new form.
Choose a Tax year. Tax Forms Helper remembers your choice for next time.
Under Form type, choose W-2 Wage and Tax Statement.
Click Continue.
Under Issuer — (Payer), click the picker and choose the employer’s issuer. You can search by name or TIN.
Under Recipient, select the employee.
Fill in the form boxes. Boxes 1 and 2 are required and marked with an asterisk (*).
Click Save & Continue. To start another form right away, click Save & Add another.
Good to know: The form boxes and save buttons stay locked until you choose both an issuer and a recipient.
Issuer or employee not set up yet? Click the + next to Issuer — (Payer) or Recipient to add one without leaving the form. See How to Add a Recipient Manually.

Edit a W-2
Go to Forms in the left menu.
Find the form. Use the Form Types filter to show one form type, or search by issuer or TIN.
Click the form’s name. You can also click Actions on its row and choose Edit a Form.
Update the boxes you need.
Click Save & Continue.
Need a different tax year or form type? You can’t change those on an existing form. Delete it and create a new one.
Delete a W-2
Warning: deleting a form is permanent. This can’t be undone. Forms that have already been eFiled can’t be deleted.
Go to Forms and find the W-2.
Click Actions on its row, then click Delete Form.
In the Delete form window, click Delete, or click Cancel if you change your mind.
Deleting several at once? Check the box next to each form, then click Delete in the bar at the bottom of the screen. Any filed forms in your selection are skipped.
What if the W-2 was already eFiled?
An eFiled W-2 can’t be edited or deleted like a draft. You correct it with Form W-2c (Corrected Wage and Tax Statement).
Click Actions on the W-2’s row and choose Make a correction.
In the File a correction panel, answer Why are you correcting this W-2?
Enter the correction details and save.
Depending on the reason, Helper may create two W-2Cs that are filed together. That’s expected.
You can also start a W-2c by choosing W-2C under Add a new form.
Make a correction isn’t available when:
The W-2 hasn’t been filed yet. Edit it instead.
The W-2 was rejected. Fix it and resubmit with Edit and Replace.
How do I find a specific form?
Use the tabs at the top of the Forms list: All Forms, Needs action, Incomplete, Ready to file, Queued & sent, and Accepted.
You can also pick a tax year, search by issuer or TIN, and narrow the list with the Issuers, Form Types, and Form Statuses filters.
When your W-2s are ready, select them and click Checkout & File. See How to eFile with the IRS or SSA.
